Bacterial biofilm formation is highly relevant for microbial infections, surface corrosion processes, and numerous ecological traits. In the Molecular Microbiology researech group, we focussed on the antimicrobial and biofilm-preventing features of newly developed nano-silver coatings. This research was done in close cooperation with biotech industry such as the Bremen-based company BioGate AG.
